Join the National Vegetable Society
What does the National Vegetable Society offer you?
- Firstly contact with people who can help - people who understand
the problems of growing vegetables.
- Chances to meet and discuss with enthusiastic growers, and in
some cases exhibitors.
- It offers you the chance to join a Panel of Lecturers, or the
chance to be a Certificated National Vegetable Judge, respected
across the whole country.
- Each year every member will receive a free packet of seed -
usually a new variety for trial.
- Each member will receive the Quarterly Bulletin of the National
Vegetable Society, containing interesting articles on vegetable
growing and kindred topics, along with the news of Society
events from the tip of Scotland down to the Southernmost point
of England.
- There are the Branch Newsletters dealing more with the "local" aspects,
these are quarterly. These will highlight local seminars and workshops,
demonstration stands at the various shows, and give you a chance
to be "part of the Society".
- Recently the Society issued an Annual Directory, listing all
office holders in the National Executive Committee (NEC), Branch
Committees and District Associations, along with a current list
of Qualified Judges and respected Lecturers. This is circulated
to ALL members after any major changes have warranted a re-print.
- Finally the Society's Constitution, again circulated to all
members after any changes (passed at the AAGM) have been made.
